FAQs

  • Do I need to meet face to face with my solicitor? It’s very rare that your solicitor or conveyancer will need to see you in person. The majority of the conveyancing takes place via phone, email and post. Some practices will also use there own case tracking software which you will have access to. Additionally, given the current COVID-19 situation, it is very unlikely that practices will have facilities that enable in person meetings safely.
  • My estate agent has recommended a particular practice. Will the property transaction run more smoothly if I choose this solicitor? Estate agents will work with whichever conveyancing firm you choose to undertake your conveyancing. It is in their interest to ensure a smooth and timely sale/purchase of your property so your choice of solicitor will not have an impact on the property transaction. Some estate agents will receive a "recommendation fee" from conveyancers for introductions which can be in excess of £100 each for a sale and purchase transaction.
  • What is the benefit of using Solicitors Nationwide? We provide a quick and easy way to compare conveyancing costs so you can see clearly if you are getting a good deal. We also provide recent feedback on each of our conveyancers so you can see how well they perform. Finally, our fees are generally cheaper than if you were recommended via an estate agent or mortgage broker as we charge the solicitors on our panel less than the referral fee they pay to other introducers.
